The operating principle of hot recycling

Hot recyclers are eminently suitable for rehabilitating surface courses within extremely short periods of time. The method is suitable for use with all asphalt pavements, whether motorway or urban road.

The damaged asphalt layer is gently heated to a maximum working depth of 6 cm by panel heating machines and by the infrared heating elements of the hot recycler (Remixer) itself. The heated bituminous pavement is then scarified by a rotating scarifier unit.

With the Remix method, the asphalt pavement is homogeneously mixed with corrective aggregate and / or hot bitumen in a twin-shaft compulsory mixer. A paving screed then places the new asphalt mix again true to profile.

The Remix Plus method also recycles the existing asphalt pavement. With this method, a second layer of virgin mix is paved on top of the recycled layer in one single machine pass. The result is a 100% hot recycled layer overlaid with a new surface course.

The entire recycling operation is carried out in one single work step and as a moving job site directly on the pavement to be recycled.
